The Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratories (ABL), the first research center for genetic engineering studies among all the universities in Taiwan, was founded in NCHU in 1984.
To meet the advances in today’s biotechnology, Biotechnology Center (BTC) was reorganized from ABL in 2001.
To serve as a bridge of colleges of NCHU:
introduce new molecular techniques, train students and researchers, and provide the resources for biotech research.
Improvement of teaching and research for personnel training and development.
Emphasis on the development of key techniques and the upgrade of biotech industries.
Promotion of academic-industry and academic-academic cooperation, either domestic or international, for new technology development.
