越南木瓜輪點病毒輕症疫苗田間試驗考察
已研發出由南越的木瓜輪點病毒(PRSV)具感染力的cDNA轉錄體的構築,並且進一步敲除其病原性,產生穩定的輕症疫苗。在溫室條件下証明可完全保護木瓜不會被南越PRSV感染。為進一步在南越進行田間試驗,由本計畫透過越南國家農業科學院安排,在胡志明農林大學及南方園藝試驗所進行四個場地,共計3000株木瓜的田間試驗。2022年一月至今已滿一週年。台越農業科技海外科研中心主任葉錫東院士及「VAAS-NCHU」辦公室執行長張武男教授結伴,前往南方胡志明農林大學、南方園藝試驗所、林台公司、萬商公司,考察田間試驗結果,成效甚佳並商研下年度擴大規模示範交互保護防治木瓜輪點病的相關事宜,預期將會對越南木瓜生產帶來革命性的衝擊。
On-Site Investigation of Field Tests of Vietnam Attenuated PRSV Vaccine
The mild mutants of PRSV have been developed from Vietnam PRSV strain and demonstrated to protect papaya plant from the severe PRSV TG-5 isolated from South Vietnam under greenhouse condition. Through cooperation between Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS) and VAAS-NCHU Agricultural Sciences and Technology Innovation Cooperation (VAAS-NCHU ASTIC), four locations with a total of 3,000 papaya seedlings inoculated with the mild PRSV vaccine have been conducted for field tests in South Vietnam. The four field trials including two in Ho Chi Minh (HCM) Nong Lam University and two in Southern Horticultural Research Institute (SOFRI) been conducted more than one year (2022 Mar ~ 2023 Mar). Academician Prof. Shyi-Dong Yeh and Prof. Woo-Nang Chang, have visited and examined the cross-protection effectiveness of each field. The Cho Chao and Gia Lai fields had excellent results, the other two field were covered with too much weeds because of poor management. Approved by VAAS, the field trial of PRSV mild vaccine will be expanded to 50 ha in the next year, bring a revolutionary impact to the papaya production in Vietnam.
